April 2025

On the first Thursday of the month, we worked upwards of the Sandy Spit Track (KR 18) looking for gorse and other invasives. It was a beautiful day for this – cool and clear – and we were able to weed out a lot of gorse re-growth with more still to be done. During our morning tea break we sighted the first Scarlet Robin of the season

On the third Thursday of April, we headed for Trig Hill (KR24). We found very little in the way of invasives on the north-west side of the hill however, there were a lot of gorse seedlings on the south-east side of the hill. We will plan to return to this area later in the year if possible.
