September 2025
Our first activity for September in Providence Gully was cancelled due to rain. The second activity for the month, in Salvator Rosa Glen, went ahead as planned. Many group members worked at planting about 100 Lomandra and Dianella plants on the bank near Blackwood Grove. Others were kept busy weeding throughout the Glen. For historical context, look at the painting dated 1845 in the link below of Salvator Rosa Glen, held in the Art Gallery of NSW, to see how the landscape has changed!

October will begin with our first activity along the fire break behind Weerona Avenue where we will attack red hot pokers and agapanthus. We will return to Providence Gully for our second activity.
We will also have our annual plant give-away and plant identification walk on Sunday 5 October. Bruce Champion will lead the walk and Hobart City Council will provide a selection of local plants for the give-away. All welcome!
Lastly, welcome to two new members, Gwyneth Missen and Elizabeth Orr.
