July 2026
We only managed one activity this month because of more welcome rain. Winter weather is really with us bringing some very cold days but also some strangely mild days too. On the Reserve, the acacias look almost ready to flower and the rain has filled the frog ponds. Frog calls are ringing out across the Reserve and together with the songs of the many over-wintering birds – wrens, yellow-throated honey-eaters and little wattle birds to name just three – there is a lot of more-than-human activity taking place notwithstanding the cold.
